resize (2).jpg) The offshore boats did AWESOME today!! We have not had many boats go out lately because of the weather. After the tropical storm and all the windy days last week the seas have not been too friendly for our boats and anglers to get out there to go fishing. However, today was a great day out on the water. I guess giving the fish a few days off really made the difference in their numbers and sizes. Check out these pictures. . . . .
Look at these fish. Even the sizes have improved dramatically. These fish are even longer that the racks!! That is great for Dolphin. To catch that many Dolphin of that size is fantastic. You can also tell by the varying colors of the fish that these fish were caught all day long. These fish start to lose their color as soon as they are pulled out of the water, so for some of these fish to still have such a bright color on them, means that they must have been caught right before they were brought back to the dock. This means that these anglers were in on the action all day. They had to have caught fish all day to have such a wide variety of colors to them. This makes for a much more exciting and enjoyable day of fishing, because there is no down time and the fish are being caught steadily through out the day.
The Billfish have certainly made a big showing recently too. Most every boat has come back with at least one flag. For those of you that don't know the flags are representation of the Billfish that were caught. If the flags are right side up, then the fish are being brought back to the dock, but if the flags are upside down that means that the fish were released. Most of the time Billfish are released. However, if for some reason the fish dies or it is a Swordfish, they will bring the fish back to the docks.
