Virginia Beach Fishing Report, Virgina Beach Fishing report

Spade, spade and even more spade fish! The charter today headed out on a "Near Shore" trip to the area around the Light Tower, appoximately thirteen miles from the Virginia Beach coastline. This is an active fishing area for spade fish and cobia and our charter enjoyed the plentiful fishing. They caught so many fish, they coundn't keep the count straight (the mate uses his fingers and toes to count, I think they were at twenty plus! Hee hee). Spade fish and cobia are a fun to catch and make a very tasty dinner!

The offshore fishing was a little rough today. The rough seas had the fish not quite as active as they have been over the past week. Some dolphins were caught, the king mackeral fishing continued to be strong, but the king mackerals were a little sensitive to the rough seas and bit off the line several times.They must know that a storm is trying to roll in.... Once the storm rolls on past, the fishing should pick right back up again!
